Columbus police are seeking a driver they say killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run early Sunday on the city's Northwest Side.

Around 3 a.m., a 2013 or 2014 white Scion xD driving east on West Granville Road struck a pedestrian walking in the area west of Sawmill Place Boulevard, according to Columbus police. The driver of the Scion xD fled the scene, according to police.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced the adult pedestrian dead at the scene. Police have not yet named the pedestrian.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at (614) 645-4767. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-8477.
