    Vote for Memphis area's top defensive football player entering 2024 TSSAA season

    The 2024 TSSAA football season is right around the corner. Now is the time to vote for the best defensive player in the Memphis area headed into an exciting 2024 season.

    Voting closes Tuesday at 10 a.m.

    Andre Allen Jr., Houston, Sr.: Allen was named to The Commercial Appeal's All-Metro first team a season ago after making 77 tackles for intercepting four passes for the 6A champions. He has offers from Arkansas, Boston College and others.

    Stanley Burrow, MASE, Sr.: Burrow, an All-State linebacker a season ago, recorded over 100 tackles for MASE. He holds offers from Marshall, Alabama State, Alcorn State and others.

    Delandis Dandridge, Fairley, Sr.: Dandridge, a 6-foot-1 defensive lineman, was an All-State player and a key part of Fairley's stout defense last season. The Bulldogs pitched shutouts in 10 of 13 games in 2023.

    Daylin Edwards, Covington, Sr.: Covington's senior defensive lineman was an All-State performer last season, helping the Chargers to the quarterfinal round of the 3A playoffs.

    Charlie Goss, First Assembly Christian School, Jr.: Goss, a 6-foot-4 safety, recorded 80 tackles and nine interceptions last season, earning a spot on the DII-A All-State team.

    Jarcoby Hopson Jr., Lake Cormorant, Sr.: Hopson, a four-star Ole Miss commit, made 71 tackles including four for loss last season, earning second-team All-State honors in Mississippi.

    Austin Howard, Barlett, Sr.: Howard is a powerful and versatile linebacker currently committed to Mississippi State. Last season, he made 41 tackles including 14 for a loss.

    Issiah Lackey, Sheffield, Sr.: Lackey recorded 66 tackles a season ago, including 18 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He holds offers from Alabama State, Central Arkansas and others.

    Yasir Muhammad, Germantown, Sr.: Muhammad, a UNLV commit, was an All-Metro second-team player last season after making 21 tackles and intercepting seven passes for Germantown.

    Kenderrius Robertson, Mitchell, Sr.: Defensive lineman Kenderrius Robertson was an All-State performer for 2A Mitchell a season ago, making 71 total tackles.
