COSHOCTON − A Zanesville real estate firm has opened a new office in Coshocton, due to the expanding market.

Leonard And Newland Real Estate Services recently opened a branch at 1100 Fairy Falls Drive, Suite 5. The company also has offices in Zanesville, Cambridge, Caldwell, Newcomerstown and New Concord with another opening soon in Newark.

The firm is owned by Jeff Leonard and Wayne Newland. Regular agents on site will be Linda Weber and Sarah Young, who is also serving as office manager. It's possible three more real estate agents could be added.

"We were kind of at a stagnant point," Newland said of business in Coshocton. "But, once you actually implement an office and put it in and you have an actual physical location it tends to draw some business and other agents."

Newland said one of their agents pointed them in the direction of Coshocton. The company offer a variety of real estate services including buying and selling of homes and commercial properties, auctions and property management.

Leonard said the community has been very welcoming and they've received great assistance from entities such as the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce, Coshocton Port Authority and Mayor Mark Mills.

"One of the things we're big on is community involvement and supporting local businesses when we come into a community," Leonard said. "We want to be part of every community we're in and bring value to the community. We're not here just to mine, sell homes and make a profit. We're here to improve the quality of this community."

While Leonard and Newland isn't involved in new home builds, they are interested in such projects. Newland said due to the Intel chip plant coming to Licking County and related businesses they see people buying and selling homes across Central Ohio exploding in the next few years.

"It will all expand, but this a prime location," Newland said of Coshocton. "There's a huge pinch in housing right now. The Intel executives and higher-ups are hounding multiple people in this whole entire region. 'You guys need to start building houses, because it's coming.'"
