    Jefferson County Livestock Judging teams excel at state competition

    The Jefferson County Senior Livestock Judging teams placed first and fifth and the Junior Livestock judging team placed fourth in the State 4-H Livestock judging contest. The event was held July 22 at the UW-Madison Arlington Research Station.

    The first-place senior judging team members were Megan Doherty, Keilah Reu, Olivia Dolph, and Hanna Brattlie. They are the first senior team from Jefferson County to win the senior division at the State 4-H livestock judging contest. The first-place senior team placed first in beef, sheep judging and reasons.

    Individually, Megan Doherty placed first overall, first in beef, sheep judging and reasons. Olivia Dolph placed ninth overall. Hanna Brattlie placed fifth in reasons.

    The fifth-place senior judging team members were Gabe Mindemann, Aiden Mindemann, Elliott Small, and Colin Anfang.

    Individually, Aiden Mindemann placed 3rd in reasons, Gabe Mindemann placed sixth in reasons, Elliot Small placed in reasons.

    The fourth-place junior judging team members were Gavin Boettcher, Cheyenne Pautz, Gracelynn Dolph, and Logan Hoyt. The junior team placed second in swine judging.

    Fynnley Gefvert placed second individually in swine judging. The first senior team will be competing in the Ak-Sar-Ben Livestock judging contest in Grand Island, Neb. Sept. 29.
