    GameStop Retro to bring classic gaming back to retail locations in Kentucky

    GameStop is returning to the classics.

    The video game retailer plans to turn some of its stores into "GameStop Retro" locations — with a few opening in Kentucky. The retro locations plan to sell older consoles and games for old school players.

    The company listed several iconic consoles that'll be making a return such as the Wii , Xbox 360 , Sega Genesis , Game Boy , PlayStation , as well as many others. These locations will also sell older games from a variety of franchises, including Pokémon, Mario Kart, Halo and Grand Theft Auto.

    The company hasn't specified how many stores will be considered retro locations and whether the shift is permanent or for a limited time only, but there are many locations making the switch in Kentucky.

    GameStop Retro locations to open in the Louisville area

    There are two retro stories coming to the Louisville area. Here's where you can find them:

    • Tymberwood : 4242 Outer Loop, Louisville
    • Radcliff Shopping Center: 2037 Was Mart Way, Radcliff

    Here's where other GameStop Retro stores will open in Kentucky:

    • Campbellsville Bypass: 726 Campbellsville Byp Ste 9, Campbellsville
    • Paradise Plaza: 3245 Mount Moriah Ave. Ste 2, Owensboro
    • Crossroads Plaza: 125 E. Reynolds Rd. STE 149, Lexington
    • Florence Square: 7723 Mall Rd., Florence
    • Carriage Gate: 837 Eastern Byp Ste B, Richmond

    GameStop adds retro store tracker

    GameStop also implemented a retro store locator on its website to help customers find these spots.

    Users can click "Find A Retro Store" and enter their ZIP code to find nearby locations under their specified radius.

    From PlayStation and Xbox to Nintendo, retro stores will sell hardware and consoles, as well games to use them.
