    Here's a list of Memorial Day ceremonies in the Evansville area for 2024

    Looking to observe Memorial Day and honor those who died defending their country? Here's a look at some of the ceremonies occurring in the Tri-State.

    Evansville and Vanderburgh County

    Memorial Day Run

    The ninth annual Memorial Day Run will raise money for Rolling Thunder, which helps educate the public about American prisoners of war.

    Charles Denby VFW Post 2953

    May 27, 10 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery, 1800 St. George Road.

    The service will feature a 21-gun salute and a reading of the names of all veterans serviced by Sunset since last Memorial Day. Food will be provided at the post location at 1800 Pollack Ave.

    Locust Hill Cemetery and Arboretum

    May 27, 10 a.m, Locust Hill Cemetery and Arboretum, 3800 Kratzville Road.

    The program will be held in the veteran's section near the north side of the cemetery.

    Funkhouser Post 8

    May 27, 11 a.m., Oak Hill Cemetery and Arboretum, 1499 E. Columbia St.

    Service will be held on the Veterans Plaza which is just inside the main gate.

    AmVets Memorial Day Ceremony

    May 27, 1 p.m., Tupman Cemetery, 1601 N. Red Bank Road.

    AmVets No. 84 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting an outdoor Memorial Day service in Tupman Cemetery.

    American Legion Eugene Pate Post 265

    May 26, 10:30 a.m., Park Lawn Cemetry, 1526 S Green River Road.

    This event will honor all veterans through poems, the placing of memorial wreaths, and a salute to the dead.

    Bluegrass Memorial Service

    May 26, 10:45 a.m., Bluegrass Cemetery, 14200 Petersburg Road.

    The service will be held half a mile from the church and will feature a red carnation placed on each veteran's grave.

    St. Jospeh Cementary

    May 27, 8:15 a.m. St. Jospeh Cementery, 2500 Mesker Park Drive.

    The St. Joe Veterans will be conducting service observing Memorial Day.

    Warrick County, Indiana

    American Legion Post 351

    May 26 - Several memorial services will be hosted around Elberfield :

    • 8:30 a.m.- North View Cemetery (220 Brown St.)
    • 8:50 a.m.- Nobles Chapel (10100-10202 Nobles Chapel Road)
    • 9:05 a.m.- Burchfield Cemetery (11524 Indiana 68)
    • 9:30 a.m.- Barnett Chapel Cemetery (6054 Stanley Road)
    • 9:50 a.m.- Susott Cemetery (10322 Seven Hills Road)
    • 10:00 a.m.- Old St. Johns Cemetery (St Johns Road)
    • 11:00 a.m.- Zion Cemetery (10544 Stanley Road)
    • 11:30 a.m.- First Avenue and Main Street

    Posey County

    Memorial Services will be conducted on May 27 at these cemeteries:

    • St. Wendel Cemetery (10597 W. Boonville New Harmony Road)
    • Liberty Cemetery (Gibson Road and Greeley Street in Cynthiana)
    • Veterans Memorial Cemetery (194 Main St. in Poseyville)
    • Laurel Hill Cemetery (6836 Hidbrader Road in Wadesville)

    Henderson, Kentucky

    Community Memorial Day Ceremony

    May 27, 10 a.m., Central Park in Downtown Henderson

    This year's event will honor Vietnam Veterans as the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall is expected to be present.
