    EVANSVILLE — The Vanderburgh County Council will be working this week on the budget for 2025.

    This includes two days of hearings focused solely on county departments and what they will need to operate in the next year.

    Hearings are open to the public to attend and start at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Room 301 of the Civic Center. The hearings will also be streamed on the county's website through AccessEVC.

    Here's the daily schedule.

    Wednesday starting at 9 a.m.

    The county council's monthly meeting is set for 8:30 a.m. Budget hearings will start after that meeting, and no earlier than 9 a.m.

    What comes after this week's hearings?

    In September, the county will have a hearing with the city for its joint departments.

    The county will have its meeting where the members make budget cuts at 4 p.m. Sept. 4.
