    Putnam common pleas

    William Brown, 38, Dayton; and Gregory Preston, 33, Cincinnati, each appeared for sentencing on a charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony. Each was given a prison term of six to nine years with credit for 185 days served in jail while their case was pending. The charge was amended from a first-degree felony, while a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a first-degree felony, was dismissed.

    Michele Loveday, 40, Deshler, appeared for sentencing on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a fourth-degree felony. She was placed on community for five years with conditions, including that she serve 17 days in Putnam County Jail with credit for time served while her case was pending and complete recommended counseling and treatment.

    Jason Burleson, 41, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony; and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and his bond was continued. Sentencing was scheduled for March 4. The assault charge was amended from aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony, while four counts of felonious assault, each a second-degree felony. A second grand jury indictment filed against Burleson in January alleged that he assaulted and caused serious physical harm to a man and a woman during a dispute at 107 W. Main St. in Kalida on Oct. 2.

    Samantha Manson, 41, Grover Hill, pleaded not guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a first-degree misdemeanor; and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 4 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

    Garrett Schroeder, 19, Ottawa, pleaded not guilty to illegal use of minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, a second-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for March 4 and bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.
