VINEMONT, Ala. – The Town of South Vinemont welcomed in the warm weather and took advantage of the sunshine on Saturday, May 11, at the  inaugural Farmers and Makers Market. The market was a collective gathering of the area’s artisans, makers and farmers, all displaying and selling their creations, produce and goods.

The Vinemont Community Center served as the hub for the first-time market, with local sellers lining both the outdoor courtyard of the center, as well as the large interior. Each seller offered unique wares. Some vendors brought tie-dye items, some had tables full of crochet pickles. Mother’s Day was on the minds of a few of the vendors, with decoration flowers, saddles and centerpieces on sale, as well as floral and mom-themed gifts and trinkets.

Temple Baptist Church came through for the tiny tykes at the event, setting up a large inflatable slide and games for the youngsters to enjoy. The church provided hotdogs, chips and drinks, and there were many food trucks, including Smokin’ Joes BBQ and Hele Bowls, on-site.

“We would like to thank everyone who was able to come out to the event Vinemont Farmers and Makers Market,” Vinemont Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser said. “Special thanks to all our vendors, (the) Decatur E-Center and Temple Baptist Church for making this event such a success; we appreciate all you did.”
