With jamborees over, the Pop Warner football and cheer season got under way in earnest this past weekend, with all the area organizations out of town.

Port Charlotte traveled to Naples to face the Gators. The organization’s newly minted 9U team played Cape Jr.

The Bandits came away with wins in five of the six games and will return home this weekend, where they will play host to the rival Charlotte Warriors at Franz Ross Park.
