Jewelry retailer Rowan coming to West Des Moines with Jordan Creek Town Center store

Health-oriented jewelry retailer Rowan will move into Jordan Creek Town Center next year.

Ali Phillips, a spokesperson for Jordan Creek owner Brookfield Properties, said the chain will occupy a space near the new Abercrombie & Fitch store in the east wing of the mall near Scheels, Phillips said.

The New York-based chain says its piercings are done by license nurses, with appropriate attention to after care to avoid infections. Its website includes an extensive explanation of its piercing techniques and options.

"All our piercings are performed by licensed nurses only—as they should be. After all, piercing is a medical procedure," it says.

It also says all of its jewelry is hypoallergenic, with earrings made of "pre-sterilized 14k gold, gold plated, surgical grade stainless steel, and titanium only."

More details about the store will be released when it is closer to opening, Phillips said.
