Two exceptional Michigan properties are set to be auctioned online Monday, presenting an opportunity to acquire truly remarkable estates.

One of these properties, known as Eagle’s Crest, is a waterfront property that stands as the only residence on an 80-acre island, featuring 400 feet of scenic shoreline.

“It’s a place where you can have total privacy away from the world,” says Dylan Tent from Signature Sotheby’s International Realty in Northville, referring to Eagle’s Crest. Tent is the listing agent for both estates and is working in collaboration with Interluxe Auction, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based online luxury real estate auction platform, to manage the sale.

The other, known as Castello Montebello, is a classic European-style estate in Northville that spans 2.2 acres that has hosted U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries. This expansive property offering over 16,000 square feet of finished living space boasts seven bedrooms and a 13-seat theater designed by renowned home theater designer Theo Kalomirakis, replicating New York City’s iconic Paramount Theater.

Both properties have seen intermittent market listings over the past several years.

Eagle’s Crest, once listed for $5.9 million, was named “House of the Day” by The Wall Street Journal and was featured in Michigan Blue Magazine . The property on the 80-acre Treasure Island is surrounded by Half Moon Lake, Blind Lake, and lush greenery. Designed by Bloomfield Hills-based DesRosiers Architects, the estate showcases classic Nantucket-style cedar shake and Michigan fieldstone. The property spans approximately 3 acres and includes a main lake house, a boathouse, and a six-car garage with 1,000 square feet of potential living space.

The main residence at Eagle’s Crest offers three bedrooms and sun-drenched living areas and water views. The grandfathered boathouse includes a bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom, and veranda overlooking the serene waters.

The Eagle’s Crest estate, located at 14625 Edgewater Drive in Lyndon Township in the northwest corner of Washtenaw County, will have a starting bid of $1.7 million.

Castello Montebello was previously listed at $4.9 million and had an asking price of $14.5 million in 2014, as reported in a Detroit Free Press article at the time. The mansion features a guard house, a striking four-floor free-floating staircase, 7.2 bathrooms, eight fireplaces, and an additional 4-plus acres that can also be auctioned off. “It claims the highest elevation in Wayne and Washtenaw counties,” according to the Realcomp listing, and is located just five blocks from shops and restaurants on Northville’s Main Street.

The Castello Montebello estate, located at 590 Dubuar in Northville, Wayne County, will have a starting bid of $1.5 million.

Stacy Kirk, vice president of Interluxe Auctions, notes: “Auction marketing engages broader and new audience, allowing the seller to secure a time-sensitive sale.”

Previews for both properties will be from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Kirk, after viewing the property, buyers must register to bid. “We require a prospect to sign the terms and conditions and provide a $75,000 good faith deposit,” she explains.

The auction will start at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26 at Interluxe.com/auctions .
