House on Coltons Point damaged by fire
During the afternoon hours of Aug. 29, several St. Mary’s County volunteer crews were dispatched to a house fire on Bayview Road in Coltons Point. A report posted by the Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department stated the blaze was on the second floor of the home. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.

Abell man sentenced for stealing cannabis
A 51-year-old Abell man working as a custodian at a St. Mary’s County business licensed by the Maryland Cannabis Administration will be spending a stretch in jail for allegedly trying to clean out a portion of his employee’s product supply over a year ago.
