    Tropical Storm Debby rainfall totals for the Cumberland County area

    With the end of hurricane season still three months out and Tropical Ernesto becoming the fifth named storm of the 2024 season on Monday, how much rain did Tropical Storm Debby bring to our area last week?

    Here are the rainfall totals from Aug. 6 through 8 a.m. Friday morning for locations in Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Moore, Robeson and Sampson counties.

    At 11.11 inches, Elizabethtown in Bladen County got the highest rainfall amounts over the two days Debby was in the area. The least amount of rainfall was in Clinton in Sampson County.

    The National Weather Service noted in its statement that observations are collected from a variety of sources with varying equipment and exposures. Not all data listed was considered official as of Friday morning.
