    1. Blood Mountain Trail

    Nestled in the Southern Appalachians, the Blood Mountain Trail is a rugged journey through history and natural beauty, beginning at Neel's Gap. Starting at Neel's Gap, hikers embark on an ascent through changing ecosystems on their journey to the summit.

    Reaching 4,458 feet, the Blood Mountain summit provides stunning panoramic views, accompanied by a historic stone shelter dating back to 1934.

    Distance: 4.3 miles round-trip

    Difficulty: Strenuous

    Pigeon Mountain Pocket is located in Northwestern Georgia at the foot of Pigeon Mountain. Hikers can spot interesting flora and fauna, as well as a boardwalk and waterfall. Fun fact: You can even go behind the waterfall.

    Distance: Just under 1 mile long

    Difficulty: Easy and family-friendly

    If you appreciate beautiful views, then this hike is for you! Located at Tallulah Gorge in the North Georgia Mountains, this is one adventure you won't soon forget. Cross a breathtaking suspension bridge and work your way down to the rugged base, where the view is just as spectacular. Traverse 1,000 stairs as you go!

    Distance: 2-mile loop

    Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous
