Series recap: The Jumbo Shrimp lost another series but did put the brakes on an eight-game losing streak, defeating the Nashville Sounds on Saturday and Sunday. The skid has dropped Jacksonville two spots away from the cellar in the International League East.

Highlight: Nashville had threatened to claw back from a two-run gap in Sunday's series finale, before Griffin Conine whacked an RBI double in the fifth inning to stretch the lead. Jacksonville went on to win comfortably, 7-3.

Crustacean sensation: In an otherwise rough month for the Jumbo Shrimp, Javier Sanoja continues to perform at the plate. The versatile 21-year-old is batting .339 with an .846 OPS in May, hitting .454 during the Nashville series with two doubles and a triple.

On deck: The Stripers, Triple-A affiliates of the Atlanta Braves, are moving in the wrong direction with a three-game losing streak to drop them 8 1/2 games out of first place in the International League West. Gwinnett's roster includes the Braves' top-rated prospect in right-handed pitcher A.J. Smith-Shawver, although he has struggled this season in Triple-A with a 6.10 ERA and nine home runs allowed in 31 innings.

Probable pitchers Tuesday: To be determined.
