Updated: Clergyman injured in fire at Emmitsburg-area church rectory

A clergyman sustained serious burns in a building fire at the rectory of St. Anthony Shrine Parish near Emmitsburg early Friday morning, authorities said.

The patient was taken in critical condition by ambulance to a hangar in Frederick and flown by helicopter to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore for treatment, according to Vigilant Hose Company Fire Chief Josh Brotherton.
