PREP ROUNDUP: Greene County Golfers Battle At Graysburg

Four Greene County golf teams competed at Graysburg Hills Golf Course on Monday.

South Greene took first place with a score of 172. Kolben Gregg and Benji Connor each shot 41, Joe Phelps shot 42, Colby Brooks shot 48, Cameron Kinser shot 50, Luke Roberts shot 56 and Collin Treadway shot 57.

West Greene took second at 180. Peyton Shelton carded a 40, Connor Campbell shot 43, Aiden Willet shot 48, Eli Brown shot 49, Thomas Cogsdell shot 51, Keatton Potter shot 55 and Blake Parman shot 61.

Chuckey-Doak finished third at 190. Avery Armstrong shot 44. Kaleb Blankenship shot 47, Layla Fox shot 48, Ty Shelton shot 51, Gavin Murray shot 52 and Gage Jennings shot 65.

North Greene took fourth with 191. Ethan Dilks shot 42, Isaac Gaby shot 48, Tyler Britton shot 49, Lawson Davenport shot 52, Connor Fitzgerald shot 58 and Brady Malone shot 61.

VOLLEYBALL North Greene 3 Cosby 0

COSBY — The North Greene Lady Huskies swept the Cosby Lady Eagles 25-13, 25-8, 25-9 on Monday.

North Greene’s Mattie Phillips put down eight kills, had seven digs and an ace; Kaydence Marshall had six aces, 16 assists and five digs; Hannah Miller had seven kills, four digs and two aces; Josie Graham had five aces, four kills and three digs; and Mercy Buchanan had 19 digs, two aces and two assists.

North Greene, now 5-3, will host Cedar View and Heritage at 5 p.m. Thursday.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL Greeneville Splits

Split a conference tilt with Indian Trail on Monday, losing the varsity match 25-22, 27-25, 15-10 and winning the JV match 25-15, 23-25, 15-13.

In the varsity match, Greeneville’s Kati Hawk had five aces and 11 assists; Katie Johnson had nine digs; and Miley Hammonds had seven kills.

In the JV match, Greeneville’s Ruby Henry had seven aces and 10 digs; Maeve Rogers had three aces and 13 digs; and Adelide Lawson had four aces.
