The upcoming Marble Falls Summer Concert Series promises to entertain big crowds with an exciting set of popular, talented musicians. Officials say the entertainment value might be upstaged by the potential economic windfall.

Double Eagle Entertainment will promote the mostly-free admission series for the fourth year, beginning 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, continuing at 7 p.m. Fridays through Aug. 10, in Marble Falls at Johnson Park, 230 Ave. J.

The series is funded by hotel/motel occupancy (HOT) taxes, which are funds allocated for parks and recreation and contributions from private sponsors, Beierle says.

“Area businesses should see an increase (of sales tax receipts) because of increased traffic downtown (in Marble Falls),” he adds. The estimated number of attendees for each event during the series ranges between 500 and 2,000.

“We expect to see a large number of locals attend,” Beierle says. “But to be sure, the caliber of all of our artists draws people from all over.”

Also at the park, there is a free concert planned for Thursday, July 4, along with a fireworks show. “Each concert will feature one main performer each week,” says Damon Beierle, the series top organizer. “Once again, we will offer a wonderful variety of shows.”

During the series, headliners will include much-admired troubadours John Arthur Martinez and Gary P. Nunn, a perennial favorite.

“Gary is always a hit,” Beierle says.

Series newcomers include acclaimed performers Cody Canada and Gary Hobbs.

“And, we’ll have wonderful new cover bands, presenting their musical tributes to Elvis (Presley), Johnny Cash and Van Halen,” Beierle says.

Too, the series will feature Aaron Watson during the ticket finale Aug. 10.

“We always have a big performer at the end of the series,” Beierle adds. “It is ticketed so we can afford the talent.”

The main pavilions in Johnson Park will open as the primary stage area during the events.

“The stage close to the water will host the free events,” Beierle said. “We will present the other stage for the (Watson) finale." General admission tickets for the Watson show are $30 per adult and $75 per VIP.

Also, a fee of $10 will be collected for coolers. No charge for 12-and-under attendees accompanied by an adult.

The lineup for the free series is; June 7, LC Rocks; June 14, Cody Canada and The Departed; June 21, Gary Hobbs; June 28, Cash & The King; July 4, Dysfunk-shun Junkshun (with fireworks show); July 5, The Peterson Brothers; July 12, Diamond Days; July 19, John Arthur Martinez & Friends; July 26, Nightbird; and Aug. 2, Gary P. Nunn.
