PARK TWP. — A teenage girl was injured Wednesday, Aug. 14, after a boat crash at the Holland South Pierhead, according to police.

Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the Park Township Fire Department and AMR Ambulance responded around 10:15 p.m. to a boat crash, with one subject in the water.

Upon arrival, officials located a 26-foot boat that had crashed into the pierhead about 75 yards east of the navigational beacon. The boat was being operated by a 69-year-old Holland man with three female passengers, all of Holland, aged 18, 19 and 22.

The 18-year-old was ejected from the boat following the crash and thrown into the water and rocks on the Lake Macatawa side of the pier. She was retrieved from the water by another female passenger.

She suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment.

    The crash remains under investigation.
