The Outsiders musical continued its post-Tony run, breaking the box office record at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre for the seventh week in a row.

The show, which won the Tony Award for best musical, grossed $1.49 million last week. That’s about $27,000 more than prior week, even though only one more person attended. The average ticket price rose to $177 from $174.

The show was one of the few to earn more money at the box office compared to the prior week. Chicago saw its grosses rise $183,066 from the prior week, to $820,608, as Vanderpump Rules ’ star Ariana Madix returned to star in the musical on Aug. 1.

Illinoise, the dance-based musical featuring songs from Sufjan Stevens, also saw its grosses increase by close to $100,000 to $878,076 as the show nears the end of its run on Aug. 10.

Otherwise, the typical top three, The Lion King ($2.38 million), Wicked ($2.19 million) and Hamilton ($1.95 million) led the pack in terms of industry grosses. Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen continues to bring in high grosses, with $1.6 million for the week, and the fourth highest gross in the industry.

The revival of the musical comedy Once Upon A Mattress , starring Sutton Foster, Michael Urie and Ana Gasteyer, joined the fray last week, starting previews at the Hudson Theatre on July 31, after transferring from a run Off-Broadway at City Center. In its first five performances on Broadway, the show brought in $529,882 and played to 100 percent capacity.

Even with the addition of Once Upon A Mattress , cumulative industry grosses fell 2.4 percent from last week, with attendance down less than half of a percentage point. The week included the opening night of the new play Job, with comped tickets, as well as one cancelled performance at The Wiz.
