Bobo Social is the kind of inoffensive chain restaurant that Ealing has by the bucketload. And like the rest of them, this all-day European spot works just fine in certain situations, like a slightly special brunch where you can order a Negroni sbagliato and smashed avocado with whipped feta, safe in the knowledge that everything will look pretty and taste pretty good. It's a crowd-pleaser of a place with a menu—burgers, curries, steaks—and interiors—hardwood floors, foliage, leather seats—that have broad appeal but aren't particularly exciting. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat here, but it works in a pinch, especially if you're rolling with a fussy eater or forgot to make a booking.

Smashed Avocado With Whipped Feta

Sometimes you just want a dish to deliver exactly what the menu description says it will. And that’s the case here. It’s nothing particularly special, and you could make it at home. But when you can’t be bothered to whip feta or squeeze avocados like they’re stress balls to test their ripeness, this is a nice alternative.

Full Bobo Vegetarian Breakfast

There’s something very fun about serving hash browns in crispy, circular puck shapes rather than triangles. The vegetarian sausages are less fun—they could be crispier and more flavoursome. We swapped the eggs out for avocado to make this fully vegan and it was nice to have something green and creamy on the plate. All in all, it’s perfectly fine.
