Xixón

Xixón isn’t a shadow of its former self—it’s a penumbra, a vague existence of the once great Spanish restaurant on Coral Way. The majority of the lightbulbs in the restaurant are out, and the noise dampening panels have entire dust bunny farms homesteading on them. The food is in even worse decay. The pulpo a la gallega is tough and slimy, and the sliced potatoes it comes with crumble with every fork jab. The absolute worst part is the tortilla española, which gets reheated in a microwave behind the bar. Needless to say, the tortilla is dry and rubbery. Finishing it is a worse chore than dusting your vents—which this restaurant also desperately needs to do.
