The wrap up of the 2024 Tuesday Night Concert series will be a jam session.
“We’ve invited everybody who performed this summer back to take part,” said Sam Heighton, executive director of Ironton aLive. “The Chase is going to be the house band. We did it last year and four or five performers came back. It’s a really good night of music.”
And as a bonus, Heighton said they are going to try and feed everybody with food from Pizza Hut and The Shakery.
“So it’s going to be a party,” Heighton said. “We’ll probably have a couple people here for it.”
The concert is at the Ironton Farmers Market Square in downtown Ironton and starts at 6:30. The event is free. People are asked to bring a lawn chair.
This is the 11th season of the Tuesday Night Concert and it has grown every year since it started.
“It has been a good year,” Heighton said. “It seems like we grow every year. People come back week after week to party and have a good time regardless of who plays. Some people like country, some people like rock, so we just mix it up.”
The event is put on by Ironton Alive and STUDIMO Productions, which is run by John Griffiths, the leader of The Chase.
Heighton said the concerts and the Farmers Market are the group’s biggest draws.
“Ironton aLive’s mission is to bring people to Ironton, downtown specifically and these two things do that,” he said. “Right now, we are involved in renovating the downtown murals and working with the Friends of Ironton on the splash park. We involved a lot with other groups to bring people in.”
The Tuesday Night concerts are made possible with the support of sponsors including Perry Distributing, Phillips Funeral Home, Sandys Gaming, City of Ironton, Glockner Dealerships, The Shakery, The Armory Smoke House, Patties and Pints, Melinis Italian Ristorante, Ironton Council for the Arts, Callahan’s Pub, Continuing the Legacy Fund, Pizza Hut, Gold Street Auto Repair, Servpro of Southern Scioto and Lawrence County, Rax Roast Beef and Central Hardware.
