Today, the SERG Restaurant Group, a family of 15 restaurants in the area, announced that several of their restaurants will be undergoing changes in the coming months. Ryan Larson, the SERG group marketing director, shared some of the details.

    • One Hot Mama’s will relocate in December to the building that is currently home to Nectar.
    • Nectar, a farm-to-table establishment that has been open on the island since February 2021 , will be closed by Oct. 1 to prepare for One Hot Mama’s arrival. A new location for Nectar was not announced.
    • Marley’s Shrimp and Burger Shack will undergo renovations in the coming months, including an indoor/outdoor bar concept. Larson said that these renovations will likely be complete by March 2025.

    • Local Legend Brewing Company, located at 1014 Hilton Head Parkway, another SERG group franchise, will also open its doors in January.

One Hot Mama’s BBQ will move about a quarter of a mile down Greenwood Drive after 17 years in Reilley’s Plaza. According to Larson, the partners of One Hot Mama’s have considered moving the restaurant into this new location numerous times over the past five years, but were “constrained by existing leases.” The current Nectar location has better visibility and parking for patrons which is why they are choosing to move the BBQ joint there.

The group is actively searching for a new space on Hilton Head for Nectar to re-open. Larson said that they are looking for a smaller footprint for Nectar’s next location.

The current One Hot Mama’s location will close sometime in the fall, once the retrofit at the new location is complete. Larson said that there will be a small window of time between One Hot Mama’s closing and the new opening.
