    Vote for top DL in Jackson area entering 2024 Tennessee high school football season

    Who is the Jackson-area's best wide receiver entering the 2024 Tennessee high school football season ? The Jackson Sun sought to find out with its definitive ranking of the 10 best DL in the area .

    Now it's your turn to vote.

    Make your selection of the area's best DL and be sure to read all of our preview coverage with the TSSAA season beginning next month (including other definitive lists of the best players in the area in 2024).

    Fans are able to vote once per hour. The poll will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday.

    Here are the nominees for the top returning Jackson area defensive linemen for the 2024 TSSAA football season.

    Kendall Boyle, TCA, Jr. : Boyle played in 11 games for the Lions last season and made 19 tackles, including 2.5 for loss.

    KD Cunningham, McKenzie, Sr. : Cunningham split time between defensive end and defensive tackle last season. He made 77 tackles with eight for loss and a sack to help push the Rebels to the TSSAA Class 1A championship game.

    Josh Crawley, Riverside, Sr.: Crawley made 34 tackles to help the Panthers’ defense on the way to the TSSAA Class 2A championship. Crawley had 34 tackles, including five for loss, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery last season.

    Kalen Edwards, Dyersburg, Sr.: Edwards has garnered Power Five attention after a strong junior season featuring 47 tackles, including 12 for loss, with two sacks, two forced fumbles and blocked three kicks. Edwards is currently a three-star recruit on 247Sports and has 17 offers.

    Yahya Gaad, South Gibson, Jr. : Gaad is a strong and a dominant force on the defensive line for the Hornets. He started 10 of 11 games at defensive end last season for South Gibson.

    Keshun Kole, Humboldt, Jr.: Working along with former teammate Stephon Shivers, who has announced his transfer to Brentwood Academy, Cole had 85 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss with nine sacks, seven forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

    REGION PREDICTIONS: Predicting Jackson-area high school football region standings for 2024 TSSAA season

    Carson Moore, USJ, Jr.: Moore made 35 tackles for the Bruins last season, including seven for loss with a sack, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

    Carter Pigg, Hardin County, Jr.: Pigg made 29 tackles for the Tigers last season to help lead a defense which only allowed 19.5 points per game and went undefeated in the regular season.

    Blake Thompson, Chester County, Sr. : Thompson made 38 tackles for the Eagles last season, including five for loss, and was one of the more versatile linemen in the area.

    James Wilson, TCA, So. : Wilson blocked four punts for the Lions last season in limited action during his freshman season.
