WELLSTON — Buckeye Construction & Restoration, LLC. (BCR) has been performing masonry and restoration work in southern Ohio for more than 40 years. The small company continues to grow and with a $50,000 grant from Fluor-BWXT (FBP) and the Joint Economic Development Initiative of Southern Ohio (JEDISO), the company plans to expand with the purchase and redevelopment of an underutilized property.

“This is exactly why we provide these grants,” said FBP Community Commitment Chair, Tim Poe. “We want these small businesses to continue to grow and create additional jobs. Not only is BCR able to do this, but they will also utilize space that has been sitting empty.”

The nearly 36,000-square-foot facility sits on approximately five acres. After restoration, the building will serve as BCR’s new headquarters and training facility with space remaining to house other tenants.

“After renovations are completed we will be able to add 10 more employees,” said Jake Miller of BCR. “This will be a multiphase redevelopment project and we appreciate the support of FBP and JEDISO.”

As part of Fluor-BWXT’s community commitment, significant economic investments are being made in the region through FBP’s partnership with JEDISO. The goal is to create and retain jobs for a sustainable and strong economy in Jackson, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties. Since 2011, FBP has provided more than $5.5 million in economic grants--creating and retaining thousands of jobs in the four-county region.
