    Vape shop owner, employees arrested

    Acting on a complaint, state Alcohol Law Enforcement agents on Friday arrested a vape shop owner and three employees on drug and alcohol charges.

    The arrests came after agents seized more than 5 pounds of marijuana, illegal THC products, psilocybin mushrooms, khat, liquor, drug paraphernalia and $8,630 in cash from two vape Cleveland community shops — Prime Vape and Tobacco at 5533 N.C. 42 West and Cleveland Vape and Tobacco, 11007 Cleveland Road.

    The operation followed a complaint of illegal activities at the vape shops.

    Hany Mohamed Saleh Hasan, 21, of Clayton, owner of both businesses, faces multiple charges, including:

    • Two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana.

    • Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver psilocybin mushrooms.

    • Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver khat, a plant-based drug that can produce effects similar to those of amphetamines.

    • Four counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school or day care.

    • Two counts of felony maintaining a business to keep and, or sell drugs.

    • Two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.

    Yaser Al Wesabi, 28, of Clayton, an employee at both vape shops, is charged with:

    • Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver khat.

    • Felony possession with intent to sell or deliver controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school or day care.

    • Possessing drug paraphernalia.

    Steven Pusey, 37, of Garner, an employee at Cleveland Vape and Tobacco, faces charges of:

    • Unauthorized possession of liquor.

    • Possession of marijuana.

    • Possessing drug paraphernalia

    • Rochelle Samero, 41, of Angier, also an employee at Cleveland Vape and Tobacco, has been charged with unauthorized possession of liquor.
