92-year-old woman dies after being hit by car in Overland Park driveway: Police

Police are investigating after an elderly woman was killed in a crash in the driveway of an Overland Park home Monday.

Officers responded around 9:30 a.m. to a home near the intersection of West 96th Terrace and Foster Street on a reported crash. They found a 92-year-old woman suffering from injuries, and she was transported to a hospital for treatment, the Overland Park Police Department said in a news release.

Police were later informed the woman died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash happened as a vehicle was backing out of a garage and hit the woman while she was standing in the driveway, police said.

Police have not yet released an identity for the victim. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
