Corning's Gaffer District has announced street closures for GlassFest 2024 from 1 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

GlassFest, the Gaffer District's annual celebration of the rich history and expression of art in Corning, will close the five blocks of historic Market Street to vehicle traffic for live glass blowing, music performances, outdoor dining, and on-street vending from small businesses and other organizations.

The following streets will be closed throughout the duration of the event:

    • W. Market St. (Tarantelli Ln. to Chestnut)
    • W. Market St. (Chestnut to Walnut)
    • W. Market St. (Walnut to Pine)
    • E. Market St. (Pine to Cedar)
    • E. Market St. (Cedar to Wall)
    • Chestnut St. (Aurene to Burmese)
    • Walnut St. (Aurene to Burmese)
    • Pine St. (Market to Burmese)
    • Wall St. (Tioga to Burmese)
    • Aurene Ln. (Chestnut to Wall)

The National Weather Service is forecasting good weather for GlassFest weekend, with sunny skies and highs near 84 degrees Friday and Sunday in the early forecast. Saturday has a chance of rain with highs near 85.

"It brings so many people to our community, which brings a lot of people to our Market Street businesses and helps create revenue," said Corning Deputy Mayor Alison Hunt, who also serves on the Gaffer District Board. "We are also excited about the art community events at the three-day GlassFest, which the district has really enhanced over the years. I am excited for what it does for our businesses and tourism."
