The Maine State Police responded to an emailed bomb threat on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:09 a.m. According to Maine Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Shannon Moss, the threat was directed at Ralph's Cafe, 12 Purple Heart Highway in Brooks.

Maine State Police Troopers and the K9 teams from the Maine State Police Bomb Unit responded to clear the building, which was not open for business today. No explosives were found at Ralph's Cafe, and the threat was deemed a hoax. The investigation is ongoing.

Yelp is currently limiting reviews for Ralph's Cafe after they were mentioned on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, July 15, 2024, after the restaurant owner posted a message on Facebook joking about the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
