While the game played between the lines takes the spotlight, a major part of what makes high school football great is the fans.

Student sections, bands and cheerleaders provide the soundtrack for fall's Friday night lights . On Sept. 5 and 6, when the season kicks off, the roars of partisan crowds at gridirons across the state return.
