    Alf star Benji Gregory's tragic final post before he was found dead inside his car at 46

    Benji Gregory gave fans a glimpse into his life in his final Instagram post just weeks before his death.

    The former child actor, who starred in the hit movie Alf , was found dead inside his car in the parking lot of a Chase Bank in Arizona at the age of 46. Benji's service dog, Hans, also tragically passed away.

    His official cause of death is yet to be revealed , but his family believes he could have died from heat stroke. Just weeks before his death, Benji posted a picture of a sidewalk and opened up about life with his dog. In the caption, he wrote: "Wish my dog, Hans, would grow out of this 'tagging' phase already."

    The post was shared on April 10 and fans have now taken to the comments section to share their tributes to Benji. "I love you so much, Benji! I hope you and your dog are next to Max. I'm a 37 year old and I'm crying," one person wrote.

    Another said: "Rest in peace Benji. I will miss you," while a third fan commented: "R.I.P. Ben. R.I.P. Hans. My sincere condolences to your loved ones."

    Benji's sister Rebecca confirmed the tragic news of his death to TMZ . The actor died on June 13 and those closest to him believe he went into the Chase Bank on June 12 to deposit residual checks before falling asleep in his car and sadly dying from heat stroke.

    The temperature in Arizona can often reach over 100 degrees in the summer heat. Rebecca explained that her brother's death came after a long history of mental health problems. He was previously diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder.

    Rebecca also said he battled with a severe sleeping disorder that would sometimes keep him awake for days on end and leave him to fall asleep at unexpected times. She then thanked fans for their kind words as she grieves the loss of her sibling.

    In honor of Benji, Rebecca asked fans to donate to causes that Benji was passionate about, such as The Actors Equity Foundation or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
