‘My date brought a friend and ordered the most expensive food on the menu, so I dined and dashed’

A man took to TikTok to share a wild first date story that ended with him leaving the restaurant before the bill came.

Johnny, under the username @_johnnyamerica, explained he recently matched with a girl on the dating app Hinge, and the two of them decided to meet up for a date . He wanted to keep it casual, suggesting sushi or a restaurant like Panera.

She had other plans, however. The woman told him she wanted hibachi, which he agreed to, even though that’s more expensive than he originally planned.

When he gets to the restaurant, he sees that she brought a friend.

He said: “She goes, ‘hey, would it be cool if my friend just jumps in with us and hangs out?’

“I’m like, ‘I guess.’ I mean she’s already here, what would I tell her, go away?’”

The three of them sit down and start getting to know each other. When the waiter comes by, both of the women begin ordering multiple drinks and then appetizers.

At this point, Johnny was starting to get suspicious.

By the time they order their entree, Johnny just requests a simple meal of chicken and rice. The two women order surf and turf. That’s when he realizes these women just wanted a free meal.

The waiter comes back, asking how they want to pay, and the Hinge date requests it all to be on one tab. Johnny knew he’d be stuck paying for the expensive meal, so he had to think fast.

“I tell her, ‘hey, do me a favor. Will you just box up my food real quick, and I’m going to go to the restroom.’ She goes, “yeah, yeah, yeah, no problem.’”

“Guess where I went. I didn’t go to the restroom. I went in my car and I went home. You think I’m stupid? I’m not. You paid my bill. Thanks,” he joked.
