    Shelley Duvall's partner Dan Gilroy files petition over her estate after she died without a will

    Dan Gilroy has filed new court documents over long-term partner Shelley Duvall's estate, less than two weeks after her death .

    The Shining actress sadly died in her sleep after complications from diabetes just four days after her 75th birthday . Shelley died at the Texas home she shared with Dan, who she had been in a relationship with for 35 years .

    Dan filed the probate paperwork with a Texas court on July 18. The case had been classified as "dependent administration", according to the court documents. This means that the person who died did so with no will in place.

    According to the court documents, which were obtained by In Touch , Dan referred to Shelley by her full name "Shelley Alexis Duvall". The actress did not have any children, but is survived by her three brothers - Scott, Stewart and Shane.

    Dan was the one who found Shelley after her death. He said she had been under hospice care and bedridden for the last couple of months. Dan paid tribute to his girlfriend after her death, calling her his "life partner".

    "My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley," Dan told The Hollywood Reporter following her death.

    Shelley was most famously known for her role in the hit horror film The Shinning, directed by Stanley Kubrick, as she took on the role of Jack's wife Wendy Torrance. She was also widely recognized for her character in the 1980 film adaptation of Popeye as she took on the beautiful leading character of Olive Oyl.

    The actress went on to receive a number of prestigious honors, including awards at the Cannes Film Festival, British Academy Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards. After appearing in over 20 films, Shelley retreated from the spotlight for two decades before coming back to make a final movie in 2023, The Forest Hills.
