Before her tragic death in 1997, the late Princess Diana made it clear that she wanted her stunning collection of jewelry to go to her sons' future wives.

In a sentimental letter she wrote: "I would like you to allocate all my jewelry to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewelry to your discretion."

Over the course of their relationship, Prince Harry's wife Meghan Markle has been seen sporting a number of items that once belonged to his mother to the value of $508,900 , according to the diamond experts at Steven Stone.

Diana's jewelry collection is renowned for its elegance and the emotional significance each piece carries - from the iconic sapphire engagement ring that is now owned by Kate Middleton, to the stunning aquamarine ring owned by Meghan. There is one particularly sentimental piece now owned by Meghan - the late Princess Diana's gold cuff bangle.

The cuff is worth an eye-watering sum and luxury jewelry expert, Maxwell Stone told The Express : "Another particularly sentimental piece is Princess Diana's gold cuff bangle, which Meghan first wore during her royal tour of Australia with Prince Harry in 2018.

"Featuring two large cabochon sapphires that appear to be 5ct each, it's likely to be worth around £25,000 ($31,690)." He added: "Traditionally, it is believed that sapphires have calming properties, promote peace and pristine rest, helping to slow down the mind."

While Meghan never met the late Princess of Wales, she is connected to her via a few select jewels, her engagement ring being the most notable. Harry crafted a custom design for Meghan, which featured one diamond sourced from Botswana and two smaller stones from his mom's collection.

Commenting on the engagement ring, the diamond Maxwell Stone added: "Though Meghan's £120,000 ($152,000) engagement ring didn't belong to Diana, we've included it as it features diamonds that did. It's actually widely believed that the stones came from her Cartier Diamond Tennis Bracelet, which Meghan has been seen wearing several times."

At the time of their engagement, Prince Harry told the BBC: "The ring is obviously yellow gold because that's Meghan's favourite and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana and the little diamonds either side are from my mother's jewellery collection, to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together."

One notable ring now in Meghan's possession is also the striking aquamarine ring that Diana famously wore. Meghan first wore this ring at her wedding reception, signaling her entry into the Royal Family while paying homage to Diana's memory.
