CosMc's, McDonald's beverage spin off restaurant, officially opens first location in Texas

McDonald’s new beverage brand CosMc’s is officially opened.

The fast food chain opened its first location Thursday in San Antonio, Texas. Guests can try the “out-of-this-world beverages” from the space-themed restaurant.

The company said in a press release: "The extraterrestrial experience will continue August 10-11 for the CosMc's San Antonio official grand opening from 10 am - 4 pm where fans will have the opportunity to try free samples of menu items and receive exclusive merch for the first 100 customers each day."

The theme comes from an extraterrestrial McDonald’s character from the 1980s. The website says the goal is to “et humans order exactly what they crave with their own unique spin.”

The restaurant serves interesting takes on popular drinks from the Sprite Moonsplash, a sparkling Sprite with vanilla and citrus flavors, to the Churro Cold Brew Frappé.

Customers can personalize their orders with any add-ons like boba, energy shots and more.

The food has a breakfast focus, with menu items like a Sausage McMuffin, Egg McMuffin, and more. It also serves small bites like hashbrowns and pretzel nuggets.

The CosMc’s has a drive thru, kiosk, counter service walk-up and in-app ordering to customers.

With the launch, four locations have opened as well in Arlington, Dallas and Watauga, Texas, and Bolingbrook, Illinois. By the end of 2024, there will be 10 CosMc’s locations opened.
