San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has publicly expressed frustration with the constant media speculation covering his future with the team.

Amid reports indicating that he is close to signing a new long-term deal with the 49ers, Aiyuk took to social media to address the rumors. The offseason has been full of conflicting reports about Aiyuk's status - ranging from claims of his dissatisfaction with the organization to rumors of potential trades, particularly with teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots . But, recent reports have indicated that both Aiyuk and the 49ers are working towards securing a long-term contract extension.

In response to the reports, Aiyuk commented on an Instagram post by NFL insider Brad, saying: "Brad, Niners be in the media everyday lol, it’s two options out there pick one and stop dropping reports simple." His candid remark garnered over 1,100 likes and sparked a flurry of reactions from fans.

The fanbase appeared to be divided over the ongoing saga. Some supporters were eager for Aiyuk to return, emphasizing his value to the team. One fan pleaded: "We need you in the Bay. Come on back home" - while another echoed the sentiment, saying: "Let's run it back and win a Super Bowl ."

Others expressed fatigue over the relentless headlines and speculations. A disgruntled 49ers fan commented: "Tired of it. This all I have been seeing all offseason. Can't even be excited for football because this is all I see. I wish people would stop posting about it [the deal] until it's done, I'm about ready to unfollow all 49ers outlets."

Some fans also delved into the nuances of Aiyuk's relationship with the team, referencing past incidents. "From a fan perspective, when Shanahan put you in the dog house only for him to come up short in the Super Bowl, I'd feel some type of way too. This isn't just about the money," one fan noted.

Before talks of a contract extension gained momentum, Aiyuk was reportedly on the radar of both the Steelers and Patriots. When questioned about a potential move for Aiyuk, first-year head coach Jerod Mayo was quick to dismiss the speculation.

"I know what all you guys want to know, but one thing I learned from Bill [Belichick] is I don't talk about players on other teams, so let me just go ahead and say that now," Mayo stated. "As a player, I appreciated that—the only opinions that mattered were inside the walls. So, I'm still trying to apply that now going forward."

Aiyuk emerged as a pivotal player for the 49ers last season, leading the team with 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. His explosive plays were a highlight, recording 28 plays of over 20 yards, outperforming other offensive stars like George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Jauan Jennings.
