Deion Sanders received quite the birthday present upon turning 57 years old on Friday.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference, the Colorado football head coach quipped that his five children likely didn’t get him anything for his birthday. But Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders pointed out that his daughter, Deiondra Sanders, gave birth to a boy - prompting a touching response from Deion.

“That’s how good God is,” he said. “God would choose me on my birthday, for my daughter, of my kids, to have their first child, the first time I’m a grandfather, on my birthday.

“Do you understand how beautiful that is? How much of a blessing that is?” he asked those in attendance, before later adding: “God bless you, Deiondra. I love you, baby girl.”

Deion’s two sons soon after replaced him in front of the microphone to share their thoughts on becoming uncles. "It's real exciting. My sister, I just got the text," Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders said before his older brother, Deion Sanders Jr., interjected that Deiondra didn’t want her brothers to divulge the news.

"Oh, well, I don't know what you're talking about," he hilariously replied in an attempt to walk back his previous statement. Shilo didn’t heed his brother’s warning, adding of his new nephew: "He's nice. He's healthy. I've seen him on FaceTime. So, I'm proud of her."

The heartwarming moment between the Sanders family was a refreshing change in what was otherwise an incredibly tense press conference. Several minutes earlier, Deion took aim at several reporters sitting before him, seemingly taking issue with the unflattering coverage that’s been published on him and his football program.

CBS Colorado’s Eric Christensen first drew the ire of Deion, who refused to answer his question immediately after announcing what publication he works for. “I’m not doing nothing with CBS. Next question. It ain’t got nothing to do with you,” he asserted.

“It’s above that. It ain’t got nothing to do with you. I got love for you. I appreciate you. I respect you. It ain’t got nothing to do with you. They know what they did.”

Christensen attempted to plead his case, insisting that he works for a local outlet and is not a national reporter. Deion was still having none of it, however, adding: “You are who you are. CBS is CBS.

“It ain’t got nothing to do with you. I respect you. That’s why I told you that, I’m looking you in the eye as a man,” Sanders said while wearing sunglasses. “I respect you. I got love for you, but what they did was foul.”

Deion then turned his attention to a Denver Post reporter, similarly waving off his inquiry and bashing him for routinely criticizing Colorado. “You don’t like us, man. Why do you do this to yourself?” he asked. “No, I’m serious. Why do you do this? Like you know you don’t. Like why do you do this?”
