    Olympics fans ask why Closing Ceremony is 'so scary' as some dismiss it as 'satanic'

    The Closing Ceremony so far has had viewers alarmed by the "scary" nature of the performance.

    The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics , with the official goodbye taking place on August 11. The Closing Ceremony took place at the Stade de France. Athletes from all over wore their medals and their countries' outfits to do a final walk off.

    French singer Zaho de Sagazan started off the show to which viewers went on social media to question if the performance was supposed to sound like this. One fan said: "this reverb is messing with my head" and another exclaimed: "Is this Satanist yet?"

    The vibes seems to set the tone for the rest of the ceremony, as another interesting segment had viewers on social media talking. During the performance, the Golden Voyager as they went through the dark, smokey and mystical background surrounded by other dancers. They moved around the stage in a performance that also paid homage to Greece, as they looked back to the origins of the Olympics.

    The Golden Voyager is reportedly based on multiple references in French History such as the Génie de la Liberté which is a gilded statue with wings that symbolizes liberty located in Place de la Bastille in Paris and the Voyager Golden Record, a time capsule phonograph record launched into space in 1977.

    As the golden figure went on their journey in the performance, they encountered the goddess Nike and the Hymn to Apollo played along with the levitation sequence at the end. Both Nike and Apollo are Greek gods, and example of another way the performance honored Greece as the Greek flag was also waved in the air.

    Greece originated the the Olympic Games 2,800 years ago in Athens. While this performance had a lot of meaning to French and Greek history, viewers were more confused and scared by the dystopian performance with some saying it had "satanic" vibes.

    One viewer wrote on X formerly Twitter said: "I don’t like this scary, weird closing ceremony." A second fan said:" Is it just me or the Olympics C losing Ceremony is a little scary." Another said: " So does the most Satanic pitch for Olympic ceremonies win every time? A fourth fan said: "You all seeing the Olympic Closing ceremony? It's creepy and dystopian.
