Travis Kelce has not yet proposed to Taylor Swift due to NFL star's 'golden rule'

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will not propose to pop superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift until they have signed a pre-nuptial agreement, it has been claimed.

The world-famous couple captured the hearts and minds of sports and music fans alike during the previous NFL season as their romance played out in public. Following chart-topper Swift's first appearance in the crowd to cheer on her beau back in September, she attended 12 more games including the Super Bowl showpiece in Las Vegas.

Likewise, Kelce spent much of the off-season jetting to locations around the globe to support his love during her Eras Tour , enjoying reunions in Sydney, Singapore, London, Dublin and Amsterdam. With their relationship continuing to blossom as they head towards their first anniversary, speculation over the pair potentially getting engaged refuses to die down.

However, according to Life and Style , the prospect of the Kelce getting down on one knee to pop the all-important question may not be forthcoming just yet. An insider told the publication: "This is a lot further along than either Taylor or Travis would care to admit, since they’ve considered themselves unofficially engaged for a while.

"[They] are both 100 percent committed to spending the rest of their lives together and starting a family,' the source continued, before claiming: "The formalities are just their schedules that have gotten in the way, as well as the logistics of a prenup, which is obviously complicated by the vast amounts of money involved on both sides."

They then contended that the apparent a pre-nuptial agreement would need to discussed before any the prospect of marriage can be discussed. "There’s just no way Taylor would walk down the aisle without a prenup. They both want it figured out before Travis gets down on one knee."

For now, it appears that Kelce's attentions will turn towards his professional commitments again as he prepares for the next NFL season. With the Chiefs ' campaign opener fast approaching on September 5 versus the Baltimore Ravens , it remains to be seen whether Swift will continue her tradition of attending.

Meanwhile, the football star's teammate and friend Patrick Mahomes has expressed his surprise after his colleague returned to KC duties sporting a new look. Speaking to NFL Radio, the quarterback laughed: "You got the old man (Kelce). I've been trying to get him to grow his hair out and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it."

Describing the efforts that Chiefs players are going to as they look to earn a third consecutive Super Bowl title in the coming year, the Mahomes said: "But since we've gotten back, it's just football. I mean, we know what the process is - the day-by-day process of just getting better.

"This is the hardest week for us, coming back to St. Joseph (the practice camp) after that first preseason game. You saw guys feisty out there today. Guys want to be great and I think that's the best thing about it."
