It comes after three people died as part of a suspected murder-suicide earlier this month. On August 4 officers from Hernando Police Department responded to a call from a neighbor who dialled 911 after they were woken up by gunshots at around 8 am. Officers arriving at the scene on Elm Street in the Creekside area of the neighborhood discovered three people with gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims who were pronounced dead at the scene have now been named as Mary Ray, 78, who was found in the breakfast room where she had been watching TV when she was shot. She had died before police arrived at the property.

Rickie Ray, 71, was found in the master bedroom by officers with two guns in his possession. Police officers believe Ray died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound before they arrived.

The third victim, Kelley Cincurak, 51, was found still alive on the back patio of the property by law enforcement when they attended the scene, she was flown to hospital by helicopter in a desperate bid to save her life. Sadly she later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital and died.

Local woman Catherine Watson who lives in the neighborhood said that the deaths had rocked the community. She told Action News 5 : “It’s very sad. I mean everyone has been affected by this in some way or the other. It’s like there is a dark cloud over the neighborhood because it is people, we all knew each other to some degree.”
