Amanda Balionis has confirmed that she will be taking a break from reporting on golf as she concentrates on covering a different sport for the next six months.

The CBS sideline reporter is one of the most recognizable golf broadcasters, having interviewed the biggest stars in the sport while seeing her name embroiled in controversy this year after a rumored romance with Rory McIlroy earlier this summer .

After covering the sport extensively for the last eight months though, she has now reported on her last event of the 2024 season with her set to begin reporting on a different sideline with CBS in the coming weeks.

She wrote: "This year had it all. From historic moments to heart-shattering events and every other emotion you can imagine in between. I love this game. I love working in sports. Competing at the highest level requires and produces constant examples of inspiration, drama, unbridled joy, resilience, growth and teamwork.

"It's an honor to be a very small part of a tremendous team that brings these moments and stories to life each weekend. If we left you with one new favorite player, or one memorable moment you shared with loved ones than we have done our jobs. Catch ya on the NFL sidelines until next season!"

The 39-year-old has covered both the NFL and college football over the years with CBS, regularly being seen on sidelines speaking to starting quarterbacks and head coaches throughout the game with commentators throwing over to her for exclusives.

Balionis has a deep passion for both golf and American football, becoming even more involved with the sport after beginning a relationship and marrying former North Carolina and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Bryn Renner. The two married in 2022, but appear to be in the midst of a divorce with the reporter choosing not to wear her ring and changing her name back from Amanda Balionis Renner.

Since their split, and following McIlroy's announcement that he and Erica Stoll would be divorcing, unverified rumors had circulated on social media suggesting that the four-time major champion had been dating the CBS Sports broadcaster.

However, there has been very little to suggest that this had been anything more than just a rumor, with McIlroy and Stoll u-turning on their divorce .
