Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck on second wedding anniversary

Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from her husband of two years Ben Affleck.

The Latin superstar filed legal documents on Tuesday in a Los Angeles County Superior Court; however, an attorney didn't file them. According to TMZ , J. Lo filed pro per, meaning by herself and without an attorney. The date listed for their separation was April 26, 2024, which happened to be a few months before Jen and Ben 's second wedding anniversary.

The two A-listers tied the knot on July 26, 2022, but celebrated their wedding in Riceboro, Georgia, on August 20, 2022. The Enough actress didn't reveal in her documents if there was a prenuptial agreement between them, but TMZ insiders said Jennifer and Ben didn't have a prenup.

This means that any profits or earnings that famous folk have made during their two years of marriage is now community property. Jennifer rekindled her love with Ben in July 2021 and married a year later in an intimate Las Vegas wedding before celebrating in Georgia with their family and friends.

The two date first began dating in 2002 and officially split in January 2004. They went on with their lives where they both married other people. Jennifer shares twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony and Ben shares three children, Samuel, Seraphina and Violet, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

The divorce news does not come to a shock since the couple were rumored to head this way for some time. Rumors between the two heading for divorce lit up when Ben was caught leaving their Beverly Hills home. The two were not spotted for some time until it was time for Violet's high school graduation. The two have always been big on family and putting them first.

In July, Jennifer did not only celebrate her 55th birthday alone at the Hamptons but also their wedding anniversary. Ben has been living in California, while she has been spending the summer with her kids in the Hamptons.

The two then sparked up the divorce rumors when they put their Beverly Hills mansion in the market. Ben quickly bought a $20.5million pad between two well-off LA neighborhoods, Brentwood and Pacific Palisades. The property sits on nearly an acre of land and was originally built in 1941 by California architect Cliff May.
