Ben Affleck appeared to be free of "tension and anger" as he was spotted in Los Angeles just hours after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce, according to a body language expert .
The 52-year-old actor was seen without his wedding ring as he left his Californian office on Tuesday. Ben looked very casual for the outing, wearing loose-fitting jeans and a gray T-shirt with a lightning bolt design on the front. He kept his eyes hidden behind a pair of dark sunglasses.
Ben appeared glum as he went about his day, with body language expert Judi James suggesting he was trying to show a look of "determination". It comes after J.Lo filed paperwork to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday to end their marriage .
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror US, Judi said: "With that huge, simple flash down the front of his T-shirt and the shades and body position Ben looks to be in Superhero mode here, looking poised for action and with his teeth gritted to signal a grim-looking determination.
"His head is slightly lowered but angled forward rather than actually dipped, while his torso looks splayed and those arms are held out from his sides as though he’s about to unfurl his cape and take to the skies. His eyes are hidden by shades but his direction of gaze appears focused with a look of determination."
Judi then suggested the Gone Girl star seemed to be relaxed now the news of his divorce has broken. She explained: "He's lost his usual props of the take-away beverage cup and a bag so we can at least see his empty hands looking lacking in signs of tension or anger.
"His fingers look relaxed now that the news is finally confirmed." J.Lo filed for divorce on Tuesday, citing the official date of their separation as April 26, 2024.
Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben before the pair celebrated their second wedding anniversary. The two tied the knot on July 26, 2022, but celebrated their wedding in Riceboro, Georgia, on August 20, 2022.
The former couple didn't have a prenuptial agreement in place and J.Lo has waved spousal support, according to TMZ . She is also asking the judge to deny Ben spousal support.
J.Lo filed for divorce pro per, which means she did so by herself and without an attorney. The pair don't share any children together and so will have no custody issues.
