Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce is "in talks" to star in a Hollywood movie for his next foray into the world of acting - as Adam Sandler confirmed a cameo in the "Happy Gilmore" sequel is also on the cards.

The three-time Super Bowl victor's status as one of the NFL's most recognizable faces appears has meant that his star has risen exponentially in recent years. His worldwide renown has been aided by his much-publicized romance with the chart-topper Taylor Swift , with the pair having been dating since last September.

Now, the 34-year-old tight end could be set to make his big screen debut in the form of the action comedy move "Loose Cannons", which has been penned by Tim Dowling. That is according to The Hollywood Reporter , who claim that Kelce is among the names that will appear the flick.

They claim that the KC icon is already "attached" to the Lionside project, with "John Wick" director Chad Stahelski set to be joined by Jason Spitz as producer. The plot for the film is set to be a stark departure from Kelce's usual duties on the football field too, with the movie purportedly centering around police officers.

Following on from this, he is also expected to appear in a cameo role in the sequel to sports comedy classic "Happy Gilmore", with funnyman Sandler having confirmed the news on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. He said: 'Travis mentioned it so we have a nice something for Travis.

Kelce has cast his net out somewhat in recent years, appearing on TV, with his credits including "Moonbase 8" back in 2020, along with a host slot on "Saturday Night Live" last year. The multi-talented NFL fan favorite has also been signed to front the show "Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?" as host too.

In addition, he will make his acting debut in the FX horror "Grotesquerie", with the Chiefs legend having spoken previously about the experience of taking part in the project. Speaking on the "New Heights" podcast previously, he said: "It’s been so much fun. I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t gotten fired yet. They haven’t told me to [...] kick rocks after the first week."

"Everybody's just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable and giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part," he continued, as he confirmed he is still learning the ropes in front of camera. "I'm just taking it scene-by-scene and making sure I remember my lines ... I'm very amateur at this."

Meanwhile, Kelce also spoke in glowing terms about the project's mastermind Ryan Murphy, who he described as an "unbelievable writer, director, producer, all of the above", adding: "There's nothing he can't do."
