A 72-year-old great-grandfather is dead after two men entered a South Carolina bar and opened fire in a heinous display of violence .

Family members of Leroy Frost Sr., who had been drinking at a local bar on Dasher Road, identified him as the victim of the shooting that occurred on early Saturday morning.

Jasper County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the bar at 3:15 a.m. EDT on Saturday morning and found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office wrote in a release on Facebook. The victims were transported to the hospital, where Frost later died.

"Jasper County investigators have been working on the case nonstop," the sheriff's office wrote. The office was quickly able to identify two suspects, too — 20-year-old Ja'Quan Demontre James and 41-year-old Herman Dessasure.

Warrants were immediately obtained for both suspects, charging them with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. More charges might be pending, the sheriff's office warned.

James was arrested after turning himself in to the Jasper County authorities on Tuesday at approximately 6 a.m., local station WTOC reported. He was subsequently booked into the Jasper County Detention Center and charged with the aforementioned crimes.

But the police are still looking for Dessasure, who was described as 6-foot-3 weighing about 205 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was known to live in Garnett, South Carolina, and in Statesboro, Georgia.

Jasper County, South Carolina — not to be confused with Jasper County, Georgia, which is 193 miles to the northwest — is located right on the border with Georgia and comprises the southernmost tip of South Carolina. It's just west and northwest of Hilton Head and about 83 miles southwest of Charleston. Garnett, South Carolina, is located in Jasper County, while Statesboro, Georgia, is located just 55 miles across the border from Jasper County.

Frost's family members remember him as a hardworking man. His son, Leroy Frost Jr., described him as a "fun-loving guy" who always made jokes and had "the right thing to say." He had been a 20-year iron worker and retired from a bomb plant in Aiken, South Carolina, which is right outside of Augusta, Georgia.

Frost Jr. added, "All I want is justice right now. I want them to be caught, and I want them to be held." Dessasure reportedly has a criminal record, having previously been charged with eight counts of residential burglary after several break-ins in 2010. He was arrested five other times, too, for charges of battery, theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, WTOC reported.

Dessasure is considered "armed and dangerous," the sheriff's office said, as it warned the public not to approach or try to apprehend him. Instead, those who spot him should call 911 or local law enforcement.
