More information is coming out about a triple homicide that occurred early Sunday evening in a parking lot just outside Indianapolis . Lawrence, Indiana with a population of just under 50,000 saw violence break out in a parking lot near 42nd Street and Post Road where police were called for reports of shots fired.

Police arrived at around 8:45 p.m to find Juan Escobar, Candido Eustaqui Antunez Guillen and Daniel Alberto Morales Uribe lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Escobar and Guillen were both pronounced dead at the scene, while Uribe was transported to a local hospital where he died later that evening.

Two cars were seen fleeing the shootout including a white Mazda and a red Ford Focus. The Focus would end up crashing into an unsuspecting driver at the corner of 38th Street and Post Road.

Surveillance footage later showed Focus crashing into the innocent driver and then two men fleeing the wrecked car, with one individual appearing to be armed with a rifle.

One of the men involved with the crash was later identified as Santos Alfaro-Escobar, the brother of Juan Escobar.

The wife of Daniel Alberto Morales Uribe, who is also related to Gullien, spoke with officers at the scene claiming that her husband came to the area to break up fighting but was caught in the crossfire when guns were drawn.

According to jail records two men 29-year-old Santos Alfaro-Escobar and 29-year-old Justo Miguel Antunez Escobar are being held on ICE detainers in connection with the shooting.

According to court documents Santos Alfaro-Escobar told police the other man in the Focus was his brother and they both came to back up their brother Juan.

Statements from both suspects and witnesses to the shootout indicate that the violence broke out due to an ongoing feud between two Honduran families.

Juan Escobar and Candido Eustaqui Antunez Guillen were the main antagonists of the altercation, and according to witnesses the shootout began when Escobar and Guillen both open fired at each other during an argument. Family members then began firing on members of the opposing family.

Police later found that Juan Escobar had previously filed multiple police reports stemming from alleged threats made by Gullien against his life.

In these reports Juan Escobar told officers that Gullien’s family had killed members of his family back in Honduras including Escobar’s father. Santos Alfaro-Escobar while in custody gave similar statements, claiming that members of Gullien’s family had killed his father back in Honduras.

Justo Miguel Antunez Escobar was later found to be the man fleeing in the white Mazda and was found by police after they traced the car back to his apartment. Multiple weapons were found at the apartment including pistols and a shotgun.

A search of Justo Miguel Antunez Escobar’s home revealed .223 ammo, the same ammo that caused the fatal wound of Daniel Alberto Morales Uribe. Uribe was later found to be unarmed and simply caught in the crossfire after the families opened fire on each other.

Both Justo Miguel Antunez Escobar and Santos Alfaro-Escobar are being held in police custody on preliminary charges of battery with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness, although no official charges have been filed.
