Alex Cooper shared the time she opened up to Matt Kaplan about her "biggest fear. "

On the latest episode of Call Her Daddy , which was released on Wednesday, August 21, Alex shared details on the moment she had to tell her now husband, Matt, about her testing positive for HPV. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted infections (STI) that is widespread and can result in warts and certain cancers. Most individuals with HPV do not develop symptoms or health problems and it could go away on its own.

Alex admitted to keeping the diagnosis to herself for some time because she felt shame but ended up telling her friends. Telling Matt was one of the hardest things she had to do.

She said: "At this point, Matt and I were starting to get serious and we were dating, and for the first time, it just sucked, because I could really envision a future with a man."

Alex added: "I think I was scared to vocalize one of my biggest fears, which was the possibility that this mistake I made years ago was going to impact my fertility. Matt was the first person I had dated that had me realize I even wanted to have kids."

The Call Her Daddy host ended up telling Matt after doctors recommended her to have a procedure to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix. Once she told him, she said that he "couldn't have been more loving and understanding and supportive." He also reassured Alex and told her that he had gone for his yearly check up and he "didn't have anything," which brought relief to Alex.

He told her: "I already know you're the love of my life, I want to marry you one day. I'm here, we are going to figure this out."

The procedure was around the same period as COVID so Matt couldn't accompany Alex inside the appointment but he did drive her and sat in the waiting room. Six months after the procedure, Alex tested negative for HPV. The two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Riviera, Mexico on April 4.
