Gypsy Rose Blanchard has headed off on a relaxing boat trip as she faces another setback in her paternity scandal .
The 33-year-old is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Ken Urker, but their happiness has been surrounded by controversy as Grypsy Rose's ex-husband Ryan Anderson is "understood to be the father" by their state's law. Bayou State law says if the mother is married to someone who was not the biological father when the child was conceived or has been divorced for less than 300 days at the time of birth, then her ex-husband is presumed to be the father.
A paternity test can be used to prove who the father is, but Ryan has opted to wait until the baby is born to undergo the test. Escaping the drama, Gypsy Rose took to Instagram on Thursday to share some selfies from her trip.
"Chill’n on the boat, getting that Grand Isle tan," she captioned the post, adding a sun emoji. Gypsy Rose wore a white tank top and flashed a peace sign to the camera as she enjoyed her time on the boat.
Gypsy Rose also showed off a stunning sunset as the sky lit up with an orange glow. Fans were loving the snaps and took to the comments to share their thoughts.
"Honey I am so proud of you and the growth and all the work you've done to improve you and professionals helping you with the terrible childhood you went through. It's mind blowing to see anyone survive that! You are beautiful! You are worthy," one person wrote. "You are strong. Many prayers go up for you, your new life, your sweet baby and Ken. Enjoy your new life and I'm sending love, prayers, and blessings."
Someone else added: "That’s such pretty sunset! Enjoy girl," while a third fan commented: "Just out here glowing." Gypsy Rose's trip comes after she and Ryan chose to delay the DNA test, considering it "easier and cheaper to wait", according to TMZ .
A paternity test taken before a birth can cost between $500 and $2,000. If a pair waits until after the birth, however, the cost drops to between $150 and $200.
Ryan recently spoke about the test and said he "didn't have a choice" in whether he does it.
During a TikTok livestream, Ryan said: "I have to get a DNA test. I don't have a choice. I hate being in this situation." He also shared his thoughts on whether the baby could be his.
"The way the timeline matches up - I don't think it's mine, but I don't know," he revealed. "The DNA test is going to prove it. Crazier things have happened. I just don't know. I have my thoughts and I have my opinions."
